About Me

Hi, I’m Collette—a mom of six, a self-employed entrepreneur, and most importantly, a woman on a journey of faith. Life has been a beautiful mix of joy, struggle, growth, and grace. I came from an abusive childhood, and through God’s mercy, I’ve found healing, purpose, and strength. It’s been a long journey, but every step has led me closer to His love.

This blog is my heart laid bare, a place where I share my experiences as a mom, a business owner, and someone who is deeply committed to walking in faith. I’m here to offer encouragement and inspiration for anyone who needs a reminder that no matter where you come from, God has an incredible plan for your life.

💛 Faith is my foundation – My relationship with God is everything. Through my darkest moments, He has always been my light. I want this space to reflect His love, grace, and the hope that comes with trusting Him.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family is my heart – As a mom, I know the challenges of raising children, balancing work, and striving to be a faithful wife. Family is where my joy comes from, and my prayer is that this blog inspires others to find the beauty in their own homes and relationships.

💼 Entrepreneurship is my calling – Running a business while managing a family is no easy feat, but I know that with faith and hard work, anything is possible. I’m passionate about helping other self-employed women discover the strength they have within to follow their dreams.

📚 Education & Childcare are my passions – Whether it’s homeschooling my children or guiding others through their educational journeys, I believe that teaching is one of the highest callings. I also believe in the power of Christ-centered learning, where faith and knowledge go hand in hand.

🌊 The Ocean is my Sanctuary – Whenever I need peace, I find it by the ocean. The vastness of the sea reminds me of God’s infinite love and His ability to make all things new. It’s where I reconnect, recharge, and feel His presence in the most beautiful way.

My Testimony:
I grew up in an abusive environment, and for years, I didn’t know what love or safety truly felt like. But God has been faithful, and He has turned my brokenness into something beautiful. Through His healing, I’ve learned that my past doesn’t define me, but His grace does. Now, I’m living proof that God’s love can transform even the darkest of places into places of light and hope.

Above all else, this blog is about God. It’s a space for sharing His goodness, exploring faith, and reminding ourselves that no matter where we come from or what we’ve been through, God is faithful, and His plan is greater than anything we could imagine.

January has become one of the hardest months in early childhood education, and not because we don’t love what we do. It’s because every year, many of us start the year unpaid, unsupported, and blamed for simply asking for what is owed. The Gift That Made Me Homesick.

Lately, this world feels foreign. Not dark. Not unbearable. Just temporary. The noise feels louder. The striving feels emptier. The rush for things that fade feels thinner than it once did. And deep inside, there is a quiet pull — not downward, but upward. A homesickness. Scripture says we are strangers and pilgrims on the earth (see Hebrews 11:13).
