๐Ÿ”ด When Strength Becomes Survival: What My DISC Test Revealed About Me, My Pain, and My Faith

I didn’t expect a simple personality test to feel like a mirror.

But when I saw my results — Dominance: 51% — something in me paused.

Not because I didn’t recognize it…
But because I did.

---

๐Ÿ’” Strength Was Never Just a Personality

The DISC test describes Dominance as:

- Strong
- Decisive
- Results-driven
- A natural leader

And yes… that’s me.

But what the test doesn’t tell you is this:

Sometimes strength isn’t chosen — it’s formed in survival.

I didn’t become strong because life was easy.
I became strong because I had to be.

When no one stepped in… I did.
When things fell apart… I held them together.
When love felt unsafe… I learned control instead.

So when I read “high D personality,” I didn’t just see leadership.

I saw a life that trained me to:

- Act quickly
- Trust myself
- Depend on no one

---

⚖️ The Tension Between Strength and Surrender

Here’s where it got real for me.

Because while my personality says:

«“Take control. Fix it. Lead.”»

My faith says:

«“Be still. Trust Me. Surrender.”»

And if I’m honest… that’s been my struggle.

Not believing in God —
But releasing control to Him.

---

๐Ÿ™ When Faith Feels Like Letting Go of Control

For someone like me, surrender doesn’t feel peaceful.

It feels:

- Risky
- Exposed
- Out of control

Because I’ve lived a life where letting go meant things fell apart.

So I learned:

«If I don’t hold it together, no one will.»

But God has been gently showing me something different:

Just because I can carry it… doesn’t mean I’m supposed to.

---

๐Ÿ”ฅ The Truth the Test Revealed

This test didn’t just show me my strengths.

It revealed my patterns:

- I step in quickly — even when I’m exhausted
- I carry responsibility that isn’t mine
- I struggle to trust others fully
- I stay strong instead of being vulnerable

And the hardest truth?

Sometimes my strength has been a wall — not just protection.

---

๐Ÿ’› Strength Is Not the Problem

Let me say this clearly — for myself, and maybe for you too:

Being strong is not wrong.

Being a leader is not wrong.

Fighting for your children, your home, your future —
that is not wrong.

But when strength replaces surrender…
When control replaces trust…

That’s where the weight becomes too heavy.

---

๐ŸŒฑ What God Is Teaching Me in This Season

God isn’t asking me to become weak.

He’s teaching me how to become:

- Dependent without feeling helpless
- Soft without losing strength
- Trusting without losing wisdom

He’s showing me that I can:

- Lead… and still lean on Him
- Be strong… and still be held
- Make decisions… and still be guided

---

๐Ÿ•Š️ From Survival to Surrender

For most of my life, I’ve lived in survival mode.

But I’m realizing something now:

Survival is not where God wants me to stay.

He’s calling me into something deeper:

- Not just strength… but peace
- Not just control… but trust
- Not just endurance… but healing

---

✨ A New Way Forward

So what does this look like for me now?

It looks like:

- Pausing before reacting
- Praying before fixing
- Releasing what isn’t mine to carry
- Letting God be God

And maybe most importantly…

Admitting when I’m tired of being strong all the time.

---

๐Ÿ’ฌ If You See Yourself in This…

Maybe you’re strong too.

Maybe you’ve had to be.

Maybe you’re the one everyone depends on.

The one who holds it together.

The one who doesn’t fall apart because you can’t afford to.

But hear this:

You don’t have to carry everything alone.

Not anymore.

---

๐Ÿ™ Final Reflection

This test didn’t define me.

But it revealed something God has been trying to show me all along:

«My strength is a gift…
But it was never meant to replace my dependence on Him.»

And maybe the real growth for me isn’t becoming stronger…

But finally learning how to let go.

---

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

And maybe… just maybe…

It’s time I believe that.
