Losing Myself After My Last Baby- Finding My Way Back
This time, though, I refuse to stay lost.
I’ve decided to take back control, to make my health and well-being a priority again. It’s not just about looking good—it’s about feeling good, having the energy to keep up with my kids, and teaching them how to live healthier lives too. I’m committing to a healthier eating plan, moving my body more, and making time for myself.
But can we talk about how ridiculously expensive it is to eat healthy in this country?
Why is it that the most affordable foods are packed with junk—processed, full of sugar, salt, and preservatives? Why is fresh, whole, nourishing food considered a luxury rather than the norm? It shouldn’t cost more to feed our families in a way that keeps them well than it does to feed them in a way that makes them sick.
If our health care system is overwhelmed with cases of diabetes, heart disease, and obesity, wouldn’t it make more sense to make nutritious food more accessible? If we made it easier for families to eat well, wouldn’t we be saving so much more—both financially and in terms of quality of life?
It’s frustrating. It’s unfair. But instead of letting it defeat me, I’m using it as fuel. I’m determined to find ways to make healthy eating work for my family without breaking the bank. Maybe that means meal prepping more, shopping smarter, or growing some of our own food. Whatever it takes, I’m going to do it—because I deserve to feel good again.
To all the moms out there who feel like they’ve lost themselves, you are not alone. And just because you’ve lost yourself doesn’t mean you can’t find yourself again. It won’t happen overnight, and some days will be harder than others, but every small step matters.
So here’s to taking back our health, our confidence, and our joy—one meal, one workout, one moment of self-care at a time.
Have you struggled with finding yourself again after having kids? How have you made healthy living work for your family? Let’s talk about it in the comments?
